AUGMENTED REALITY FOR CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL DEFENSE (ARCBAD)

The Augmented Reality for Chemical and Biological Defense (ARCBaD) system integrates next generation Augmented Reality technology with state-of-the-art Chemical and Biological sensors and modern mapping tools to greatly increase the situational awareness of mounted and dismounted personnel, allowing faster and safer operations in a dangerous area.

AUGMENTED REALITY FOR CHEMICAL AND BIOLOGICAL DEFENSE (ARCBAD)

ARCBaD, now a Phase II SBIR, brings together Augmntr’s expertise in Augmented Reality and Geospatial Technology with Teledyne FLIR’s equipment and industry-leading expertise detecting CBRN threats and building integrated CBRN mission solutions. During Phase I of this SBIR, Teledyne FLIR provided solutions for both chemical and radiological threat detection. Their support included detection equipment and technical expertise in the detection of chemical, gamma, and neutron radiation sources.

As part of the ARCBaD Phase I SBIR, Augmntr successfully integrated Teledyne FLIR’s Griffin G510 Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS), and their identiFINDER R425 radionuclide identification device (RID) onto Augmntr’s Polaris RZR vehicle as a representative mobile test platform. The resulting data was then demonstrated on the move on TAK and Augmented Reality clients.
